Farmers of the western regions are forced to replant the fields, which suffered from bad weather

In Western Ukraine, Easter weather was very contrary. Carpathians was buried in snow, and it hailed in several regions. Weather troubles accounted for the flourish and sowing campaign. The most damaged fields will have to be transplanted. This was reported by "Infoindustria" with reference to the survey.

Thus, according to farmers of the western regions, farms of the Ternopil Oblast, Korosten Raion in Zhytomyr Oblast and Zolochiv Raion in Lviv Oblast were damaged by rainstorm and hail.

It is difficult to estimate the amount of losses currently. However, respondents to the survey noted that the fields were flooded in some places, the sowings of winter crops were damaged by hail, and the crops of sunflower, peas and corn were partially washed away.

Replanting of damaged areas will be carried out in propitious weather.

It is worth noting that damage by hail was local; in other regions of Western Ukraine, the condition of crops is rated as good and satisfactory.

TSN also reports about foul weather consequences. According to investigative information, it hailed in Ternopil, Zhytomyr and Rivne Oblasts.

It was hailed in the town Kostopil in Rivne Oblast. Ice balls of bean-size fell not longer than 10 minutes, but this was enough so that the trees completely lost bloom. Hail caused damage to cherry, apricot and peach trees.

According to the biologist Vladyslav Balynskyi, the plants were harmed, which bloomed, just started to bloom or finished blooming. In the future, they will renew their vegetative mass, but, unfortunately, there will be no harvest this year. As the biologist noted, the garden strawberries got no harm. It has not yet bloomed, so it will have time to give new shoots.
