Go to the field with "Syngenta" or how was the Field Day in Kropyvnytskyi

In the Kirovohrad Oblast, on August 30, was held a field tour by the company "Syngenta ". This is reported by farmerscan.com.

Traditionally, farmers, farm managers, agronomists and distributors were invited to the Filed Day to share new achievements in seed production and plant protection products. In spite of the beginning of harvest campaign, meaning harvest of sunflower, many people responded to the invitation of the company. Although, the Field Day had a regional direction, but with the number of visitors it could compete with all-Ukrainian "Agrocenters".

After registration of visitors and morning coffee, guests of the fields-tour were invited to comfortable buses to continue the meeting in the field. On the field, the organizers of the event demonstrated a number of hybrids of sunflower and corn of own production. The demonstration took place on the fields of the farming enterprise "Khlib Ukrainy", which is located in the Aleksandriia Raion, Kirovohrad Oblast. All attendees had an opportunity to get acquainted with the crops and learn from the representatives of the company about the peculiarities of each hybrid, its adaptability to soils in the Kirovohrad Oblast, the recommended growth technology, the yield potential and ask specific questions.

Some farmers have already begun to size up the hybrids and to plan crops for the next year.

"Usually we take a hybrid "Cobalt" in Syngenta, which steadily gives us a harvest over the past four years. We like it. Last year, "Cobalt" gave us 83 centners per hectare in the dry year. We hope that this year the harvest will be at the level of the last year. We plan to try another hybrid of corn "Artesian", had commented the farmer Viktor Podkova from Onufriivka Raion.

In addition to the achievements of selection and seed production, on the field were also presented technologies of plant protection by the company "Syngenta". Thus, within the framework of field tour, the company DE "Raelin" showed its line of hybrids of sorghum, the crops of which were processed with "Syngenta" preparations.

"There are 5 hybrids of sorghum of American selection. All these hybrids are grain hybrids, two of which are ultra-early "Yuki" and "Zony", middle-early are "Yutamy", "Mailo" and white-grained hybrid "Ponky". The sorghum of American selection differs from others in that it is short-stemmed. This is very important for this culture, as it is a drought-resistant culture. Such hybrids require less moisture and are also resistant to lodging. Also, these plants are resistant to individual races of aphids, so it can reduce the number of insecticidal treatments", said Anna Lutsko, agronomic expert in the company "Raelin".

After the field trip, the plenary part of the event took place, the main theme of which was the future sowing company of winter grain crops. The portable laboratory was organized in the hall, where everyone could familiarize themselves with the most common diseases of winter wheat. In particular, all attendees had the opportunity to look at the samples of infected plants and the development of pathogens under a microscope, and to listen to a presentation about what contributes to the spread of plant diseases, and how to identify a specific disease. At the moment, the company "Syngenta" offers for its partners free testing of plant and seed materials for the presence of diseases.
