A conference on the market of legume crops will be held in Kyiv

In Kiev, on November 29, the III International Conference on the market of legume crops will be held. This was reported by the Association of Legumes of Ukraine to the representatives of the website farmerscan.com.

According to the information, the conference participants will take part in discussions that are related to the processing of legumes, the preparation of fresh and chilled legumes, the main consumers of which are developed countries – the EU, the UK, the USA, Israel, Singapore, and others.

The event will take place at the Premier Palace Hotel. This year, the organizers expect that the event will be attended by 270 participants.

“Today, the popularity of legumes is growing not only in the world but also in Ukraine. By the way, here you can’t surprise anyone with hummus and lentil soup, which you can eat both at home with your family and in a restaurant. The importance of legumes is emphasized by the fact that the UNFAO has chosen legumes as the main crops for food security in the world”, write the organizers.

According to the association, legumes are nutritious, vitamined and do not contain gluten. Legumes are the valuable crops in crop rotation, which saturates the soil with nitrogen of biogenic origin, restores and raises soil fertility, and is a good forecrop for future harvests of traditional crops. In addition, legumes are resistant to drought, which today is currently important under the conditions of Ukrainian changing climate.
